It happened only last month (July 2016) when I got the chance to visit Dharamshala, one of the most happening hill stations in Himachal Pradesh. Although there are not many things to do in this coveted town but you are surely going to enjoy your time if you are accompanied by your friends. Even if you are alone, gear up for some adventurous trekking because that is what Dharamshala will be remembered for. Here is the first hand experience and not to forget Delhi to Dharamshala by road review
To start with:-
Yes, even if you are traveling in a group, you need to have pre-booking for hotel and local transportation. Otherwise it is going to burn a hole in your pocket.
What I did:
We were 14 people therefore, booked a tempo traveler that can accommodate all of us comfortably. Since it was a group booking, we hunted for hotel for 2-3 days and finally grabbed the deal in a three-star resort at an very affordable price. The tariff was discounted and costed us Rs 2,500 per room per night including a dinner and a breakfast along with a banquet hall which we needed exclusively for birthday celebration. You can bargain further if you have less requirements.
It is important to plan your outings as soon as your finalize your trip. Set your priority first- like what you are upto.
Trekking is one of the options. You need to go to Triund for that!
McLeodGanj can be an ideal start for your trekking practice. Bhagsunag waterfall and temple are at 30 min trekking distance from McLeodGanj main market. It becomes little difficult during monsoon. Mind it!...
There are many more things to do in Dharamshala. Check it out soon !
